World Cup Munich

Photo by DAV/Marco Kost It's been quite some time since the last boulder comp, so I was really excited for this one. Especially the World Cup in front of my home crowd is always a highlight for me and there are so many friends and family members watching. Qualification went sooo good! Temps were much better this year, and I felt really well prepared. By topping 4 out of the 5 boulders, I placed 5th in my group and thus made my first semifinals in two years. After such a rough season, I was...

Short Trip to Magic Wood

Needed some time off, and with perfect weather in Magic Wood, it was an easy decision to go there for a couple of days. I hadn't been there for almost a year, so I could not wait to climb on all my projects. On the first day, I was able to send both 'Muttertag' [8a] and 'Jacks Broken Heart' [8a+] both in just a few attempts. This was really surprising to me, as I really struggled with these two boulders last time. Seems like training is paying off ;) The next two days were more relaxing in the...

German Championships Speed

Speed nationals were just a week after the last Nationals in the Olympic Combined. An 8-hour train ride for some top rope climbing didn't really psyche me, but once I was there I was really hyped to give it my best. In my first qualification run, I had a smooth time of 8.32s, which already beat my PB of 8.40s in Tai'an. The second run was even better: 8.11s. Placed 4th, in the same order as at the Speed part of the Olympic Combined Nationals last Week :D In the 1/8-Final I mostly focussed...

German Championship Olympic Combined

Last weekend we had our first national comp in the Olympic Combined format and it was also the first Olympic Combined comp for me. I participated in the World University Championship in the Combined event, but the format was a little different as there was just a result calculated from the separate disciplines, and there was no combined final. The Olympic Combined format is as follows: It is a competition with all three disciplines of climbing included. In the Qualification, you start of...

World University Championship

The next morning after nationals I already had to leave for the World Universit Championship in Bratislava. Luckily, I still had one more rest day as the first day of the comp was just accreditation Stuff and the opening ceremony. I was really excited as this was the first really combined competition for me. While I did participate in the combined ranking at the Youth Worlds in Guangzhou in 2016, it's a whole different thing if you have one or two rest days in between each discipline. Here y...
